Landmine
Walking off an armed Landmine triggers a blast that can damage you and your base as well as enemies.
Mechanics
Section titled “Mechanics”Trigger and blast
Section titled “Trigger and blast”Players,
zombies, the
Reaper and
thrown
TNT arm the mine on contact. This includes you and members of your
group. A waiting mine is faint and becomes fully visible when armed. It
explodes when any touching character or TNT leaves or disappears, even if something else remains on it.
The blast affects characters and structures regardless of allegiance, but leaves other Landmines, resources and gifts untouched. It deals full damage close to the mine and less damage farther away. Destroying a mine by attacking it does not trigger its blast.
Placement
Section titled “Placement”Resources, gifts and structures block overlapping placements; characters do not. Mines can be placed
inside an enemy
Anti Structure Pad area and near the map center. After a
detonation, the mine’s placement spot stays blocked for 1 second
before it disappears.
Surviving mines remain after death and respawn and still count toward your building limit. Leaving the server removes them. Destroying a mine frees a place in your limit.
Rewards
Section titled “Rewards”When your own mine detonates, you receive its destroy reward if you are alive when the explosion begins.
Unlocking
Section titled “Unlocking”At level 8, spend 1 structure point from your upgrade points on the pad tree of the structure trees. Choosing Landmine locks out the other pad-tree choices for that life. Unlocking the build item does not cover the resource cost of each placement.
- Holding the build item leaves you at 33 % of normal speed. Switch away between placements during a chase.
- Attack enemy mines from outside their contact area. Walking onto a mine and then retreating triggers its blast.
- Keep allied structures outside the blast area, since the explosion can damage them too.
