Dark Spear
Defeating the
Reaper while you carry a
Great Spear replaces it
with a Dark Spear. The replacement increases damage while keeping the Great Spear’s reach, attack
timing and slowing hits.
Mechanics
Section titled “Mechanics”Hits apply
Slowed to surviving enemy players,
zombies and the Reaper. Repeated hits stack, and each slow expires separately.
The slow still applies when the target blocks or reflects the hit, or has
Spawn protection.

All spear tiers share their attack rate, reach, knockback and slowing effect. Compared with the Great Spear, the Dark Spear increases per-hit damage against players, zombies, structures and resources.
Obtaining
Section titled “Obtaining”Reach the Great Spear through the weapon tree using 3 weapon points. You must be alive when the Reaper kill is credited to you to receive the replacement. The Great Spear stays in the same hotbar slot when it becomes a Dark Spear, even if another item is equipped, and the reward costs no additional weapon point.
The same kill grants Dark lifesteal, which heals you for up to 12 % of melee damage dealt to players, zombies and the Reaper. Further Reaper kills add separate applications. The effect works with any melee weapon. You lose both the Dark Spear and the effect on death and respawn.
