Leveling fast

If you want upgrade points sooner, start with gathering and choose a weapon for the targets you intend to fight. Your first weapon point arrives at level 2. Use experience sources for the full reward rules.

  1. Hit a tree or stone with your starting Stick. A full hit gives 5 experience. Gathering does not cancel the Spawn protection effect, so collect resources before starting combat.
  2. Spend the point at level 2. Choose the Basic Sword for hunting zombies or the Basic Axe for gathering and breaking enemy structures. The choice replaces the Stick and commits your weapon points to that line for the rest of the life.

The Basic Axe’s damage bonus also applies to resources. A sword repeats its swing immediately after a kill against the same targets, so finishing a zombie can also damage other zombies caught in that swing.

Weapon points stop at level 9, while structure points continue through level 19. An upgrade needs its parent and its minimum level, so reaching a later weapon level does not let you skip the earlier weapon in that line. Check levels for experience thresholds and choosing upgrades to plan your points.

A zombie pays 80 experience for a melee killing hit regardless of its item. A projectile killing hit instead pays 40 experience. Finish with melee when you can safely reach the target.

Destroying an enemy wall gives experience based on its tier. Damaging it gives no experience before destruction, and removing your own structures gives none. A projectile killing hit pays 50% of the melee reward.

Open gifts you pass during gathering or hunting. The experience result occurs on 20% of rolls and awards between 100 experience and 1,250 experience. Other gift rewards give no experience.

A player kill adds a bonus of 35% of the victim’s total experience, including experience kept through earlier deaths. A projectile finish does not reduce this share.

Damaging hits on the Reaper grant experience as well as the killing hit. Its melee kill reward is 35,000 experience; a projectile killing hit pays 17,500 experience. The kill reward goes to the finisher rather than every participant. Read beating the Reaper before attempting the fight.

You keep 30% of total experience through respawn, but items and chosen upgrades reset. The retained experience determines your new level and upgrade points, so choose your upgrades again after respawning.

Total experience stops increasing at 10,000,000,000 experience in a life. For zombie hunting, use fighting zombies for combat advice.
