Dark Sword
The
Reaper’s reward replaces your
Great Sword with a stronger
version.
Mechanics
Section titled “Mechanics”A kill or an object breaking during a swing immediately repeats damage against that swing’s targets.
This includes
zombies, enemy players and structures, resources and
gifts. A kill or break during a repeat can trigger another repeat. Repeats do not play another swing
animation or reach new targets. See swords for the shared mechanic.
Comparison
Section titled “Comparison”| Item | Base player damage | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| 12.5 | Lv 9from | |
| 17.5 | Reaper kill while alive, with |
Base damage per hit against players.
The Dark Sword has higher base damage against players, zombies, structures and resources than the Great Sword. Both have the same attack rate and movement speed while held.
Obtaining
Section titled “Obtaining”Reach the Great Sword through the weapon tree, then kill the Reaper while alive with the Great Sword in your inventory. You do not need to hold it; kills from your projectiles also qualify.
The kill also grants Dark lifesteal, which heals you when melee hits damage players, zombies or the Reaper. It works with any melee weapon, and further Reaper kills add more lifesteal. Death and respawn removes both the sword and the effect.
