Great Shield
The last upgrade in the shield line blocks more melee and projectile damage
and reflects melee attacks more often than the
Shield. It keeps the same speed
while held.
Mechanics
Section titled “Mechanics”Hold the shield to block attacks in front of you; no attack input is needed. Turn toward incoming attacks, because hits that miss the shield get no reduction.
Switching to another item removes its protection, even when the shield remains in your inventory. You cannot keep it raised while attacking with a melee weapon.
A successful melee reflection sends damage back to the attacker and prevents that hit’s damage and knockback. Projectiles cannot be reflected.
Comparison
Section titled “Comparison”| Shield | Melee blocked (%) | Projectile blocked (%) | Melee reflection (%) | Unlock level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40 | 65 | 0 | 5 | |
| 55 | 80 | 8 | 11 | |
| 70 | 95 | 12 | 14 |
Unlocking
Section titled “Unlocking”Upgrade your Shield in the secondary tree with 1
secondary upgrade point. Follow the shield branch from the
Basic Shield through
the Shield; later points cannot skip those choices.
