Axes
The
Basic Axe starts a weapon line focused on gathering resources and damaging
structures. Each upgrade increases damage while keeping the same attack rate and bonus swing.
Mechanics
Section titled “Mechanics”Every 3 swings, damage is multiplied by 2. Misses advance the
count. The bonus does not increase damage to gifts,
placed
TNT, or friendly structures. Switching away and back keeps your progress
toward the bonus swing, while upgrading starts that progress again.
All axe tiers attack at 1.5 swings per second. While holding an axe, you move at 80 % of normal speed.
Comparison
Section titled “Comparison”These are damage values per hit before the bonus swing and other damage modifiers.

Choosing a tier
Section titled “Choosing a tier”At level 2, choosing Basic Axe replaces the Stick and commits you to the axe line for that life. The Axe unlocks at level 7, followed by Great Axe at level 9. These upgrades spend weapon points without charging resources.
Dark Axe replaces Great Axe when you are credited with killing the
Reaper
while you are alive and carrying Great Axe. You do not need to hold it; see the
Reaper guide for the fight.
